As far as school goes, I want to go tour a couple different ones once we're settled. I toured Art Institute a while back, and the facilities were brand new and gorgeous, and it seems financially, there is a lot of help you can find. I was discouraged with that school because I wasn't really excited about the idea of commuting an hour and a half each way, three days a week, on top of my full time work schedule. But now that we will be walking distance to the school, I may just revisit that option.
We went and had a couple drinks with my fab friend Rose on Tuesday. She also told me about American River College and how it has a really great culinary program. It's a community college, so the tution runs fractions of the fancy schools. It is also one of the top rated culinary schools in northern California...So definitely a good option as well...
Now let's talk ooey gooey goodness.
I wanted to make a little dessert to celebrate all of these great new things happening.
Whats a perfect happy food?
Vegan Donuts, of course!
You see, donuts and I have fond memories of each other when I was a little girl and my grandparents would take us out for 'coffee and donuts' in the morning when they had us for the day. It's such a beautiful memory I have of them, so donuts happen to bring those happy feelings back.
Of course, I don't eat the donuts we used to eat as kids,
but the ingredients don't keep us from sitting down and enjoying a delicious sugary circle together. :)
Always trust in Lolo at VeganYumYum for something delish! Find the recipe here.
