She can't keep no rhythm, and I can't count no time.

Well, well...we finally meet again.  I am sorry it's been a while, my life has consisted of this:
I am always talking about how my immune system will kick any virus' butt, and look where all that got me.  I got a stinky old cold.  But after a weekend of taking it easy and a little craziness(we'll discuss that a little further down) I am feeling so much better.  Derek forced me to slow down this week, which was really difficult, but I appreciate him taking care of me and helping me realize sometimes I don't need to do everything.  The weekend consisted of a lot of soup, and most people don't find that too fascinating...that's why I have been MIA for the past couple days.
So I slept like a dog (you know every couple of hours), laid on the couch, and got overfilled with trash TV.  I think I realize now why we really aren't TV people anymore.  We are movie people and have our HBO guilty pleasure shows, but I started realizing how hard it is to have faith in humanity when you watch TV all the time.  RIDICULOUS.

Anyway, so Derek obviously still had gigs this weekend, so I bucked up and put my roadie pants on. :)  I am so proud of what he is accomplishing, and I know he feels so fulfilled with it.  He played at this local restaurant both Friday and Saturday.
This little girl loved him.  He brought out the Disney and kid's songs and she danced.  It was the cutest!

After the gig, we got some food. ( A totally delicious veggie salad with no sour cream or cheese and black beans is a good vegan option for Mexican restaraunt nights)

I was still feeling pretty crummy and run down, but totally happy to be out with my man. Typically, I never take medicine unless it is severe.  I believe that our bodies have a way of cleansing through the yucky stuff with the right nutrition. We have gotten so used to popping a pill whenever uncomfortable instead of riding it out.  Trust me, I understand, sometimes you just have to, but I try really hard to allow my body to take care of itself.

Derek has been telling me forever how Jager shots are medicinal.  I took that like any man advice, and well, didn't. :) But he refused and ordered me a shot after his gig, and I am going to have to just say that I think he might have been right.  I woke up the next day feeling SO much better, no more sore throat, and way less mucus.  It's amazing, but I think man advice worked.  I feel great today! I was able to take my furry neice and nephew for a walk today and enjoy the sunshine.

I am so happy to be back to myself and get  back into the kitchen!
Thanks Jager, hopefully we won't meet again anytime soon.
